Are you looking for a meaningful part-time job where you make an important contribution to society and save lives?

Tasks and Responsibilities

Work as rescue service personnel on standby (RiB) in an emergency unit primarily consists of:

  • Damage mitigation in rescue service operations. Extinguishing fires, saving lives, and remediation after traffic and chemical accidents are some examples.

In your work, you will meet people in a variety of contexts – often in difficult situations. Therefore, it is important that you have a desire to help people, the ability to cooperate, and are stress-resistant.

New employees and those in training are first placed in a pool service which can later transition into a permanent position. You also participate in regular training and exercises within the unit.

The Rescue Services pay compensation for the time you are on standby, as well as for time spent on emergency calls, exercises, and training.

We ensure that you receive:

  • Paid training
  • The opportunity for an extra income of approx. 70,000 – 90,000 SEK per year, plus compensation for emergency calls.
  • Annual health checks
  • Good camaraderie
  • Access to training facilities and more.

Qualifications

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Healthy and have a approved physical status (roller test at the fire station).
  • Undergo a medical examination with a approved fitness certificate.
  • You must be able to arrive at the station within five minutes of an alarm.
  • You need permission from your regular employer.
  • Ability to be on standby every 4th week.
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language.
  • Swimming skills.
  • Stress-resistant.
  • Category B driver's license (Category BE, C license is an advantage). If you do not have a C license, you will receive financial support to obtain one after employment.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We strive for diversity among our staff regarding age, gender, and cultural background. Since the rescue service is a male-dominated profession, we welcome female applicants.
