The Role of Project Controller

As a Project Controller, you support projects and operations from a financial perspective. You work closely with project managers and managers on analyses, follow-ups, and decision support, and play a central role in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Through a proactive approach, you identify risks, opportunities, and changes that affect the business.

Examples of Responsibilities

• Provide financial support to project managers and operations.
• Be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Conduct monthly reporting and financial follow-up.
• Monitor project finances and analyze results, deviations, and profitability.
• Identify, analyze, and communicate risks, challenges, and opportunities.
• Prepare decision support materials and financial analyses.
• Contribute to increased cost awareness and financial understanding within the operations.
• Work on improvements to processes, follow-up, and financial control.
• Provide early warning signals regarding changes that may affect projects or operations.

Travel within Sweden and internationally may occur.

Your Background, Experience, and Competence

We are looking for you with an academic degree in economics, finance, or accounting and a genuine interest in business-close financial control. You are analytical, business-oriented, and thrive in a role where you combine financial follow-up with advisory and collaboration.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• An academic degree in economics, finance, or accounting.
• Experience in financial reporting, analysis, and financial follow-up.
• Very good skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good ability to communicate financial relationships in a clear and pedagogical way.
• Fluent knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
• A structured, proactive, and business-like working approach.

It is meritorious if you have experience with:

• Project controlling, business controlling, or similar roles.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Project-oriented operations.
• International organizations.
• Business systems such as Agresso.

As a person, you are curious, driven, and solution-oriented. You build trusting relationships, take initiative, and are confident in challenging the operations with insights and recommendations that contribute to better business decisions.
