The Public Guardian's Office is a small unit consisting of 6 case workers and one unit manager, located centrally in Kalmar. We are a supervisory authority whose main task is to ensure that people in need receive a guardian or administrator, and to exercise supervision over these representatives. Job Responsibilities

As a Public Guardian Case Worker, you will exercise public authority and be responsible for cases concerning guardianship, administration, and the recruitment of new guardians/representatives.

Your duties include, among other things:

• Processing cases in accordance with current legislation
• Handling cases regarding property sales and inheritance settlements
• Economic supervision, such as reviewing annual reports
• Recruitment and control of new guardians
• Training and information provision to existing guardians
• Administrative tasks such as registration, archiving, and mail handling
• Representing the Public Guardian Board in court proceedings
• Participating in the unit's operational development

Qualifications

You are an economist, lawyer, social worker, or have another higher education degree of at least 3 years that the employer deems suitable. We want you to have experience in independent investigative work, and you should be accustomed to independently reading and interpreting legal texts and case law. We would appreciate experience from previous work within the public guardian's office and work with economic accounting.

We are looking for someone who is structured, self-initiative, and able to prioritize their work effectively. You are confident in your profession, have good integrity, and understand the importance of balancing empathy with objectivity. You communicate clearly, provide good service, and build trust in meetings with both principals and guardians. You thrive in a role where precision, responsibility, and good collaboration are crucial for creating quality in operations.
