The Pediatric Unit (VE) in Ystad consists of a pediatric emergency clinic, an inpatient ward, day care, and a specialist clinic. We operate in Ystad with a total of approximately 80 employees and belong to the Ystad Hospital administration. The Pediatric Unit in Ystad is known for its employee-driven working style and a continuous spirit of improvement.

The Department of Child and Adolescent Medicine has three inpatient beds and additional beds for day care services for children and adolescents up to 18 years old. The medical specialties are primarily pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat) diseases. Our Pediatric Emergency Clinic receives children and adolescents from all specialties, aged 0-18, with acute medical conditions around the clock. We also respond to ambulance calls with priority levels two to four.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome a forward-thinking and development-oriented pediatric nurse to join us at the Pediatric Emergency Clinic and the Department of Child and Adolescent Medicine in Ystad.

Here, you are offered a job with great breadth and variety as the operations include the Pediatric Emergency Clinic, day care, and inpatient care. You will have the opportunity to make a difference for our patients and follow them through the entire care chain, from the emergency room, to admission and discharge. We also care for children and adolescents before and after surgery.

In your role as a pediatric nurse, you work in a team with nursing assistants, medical secretaries, physiotherapists, and dietitians. You collaborate closely with doctors and work to ensure that operations run smoothly. In addition to the main task of caring for children and families, you will also work on development, working methods, and routines, ensuring that the right equipment is available. Furthermore, you will work with assessment and triage of children and adolescents at the pediatric emergency, respond to ambulance calls, perform examinations, and provide treatment.

Upon request, there is an opportunity for rotation between the pediatric ward, the pediatric emergency, and the pediatric clinic. The position may also include development responsibilities, with responsibility for contributing to the further development of the operations and drafting and updating care guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you if you are a licensed pediatric nurse with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement for the position. Experience in pediatric care, either on a pediatric ward or from a pediatric emergency, is meritorious.

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, who is confident in your professional role and has high flexibility to adapt to the conditions of the work. You can plan and prioritize your work, have good ability to work in a team, and find it easy to work independently. For us, it is valuable if you have commitment, good service sense, and the ability to take responsibility. Since we are keen on finding the right person for the position, we place great emphasis on personal suitability.
