Make a difference. Every day.
We at the Department of Child and Adolescent Medicine are currently expanding and developing our operations. Do you want to be part of our forward-looking team? Apply to us today!
We care for young and old children who need highly specialized care, primarily for neurological, orthopedic, pulmonary, and metabolic diseases and injuries. In addition, we perform highly specialized investigations and provide intermediate care for the most seriously ill children. We have recently been tasked with providing national healthcare in several different areas. This gives you the opportunity to increase your competence in caring for children in areas such as severe chronic lung diseases and epilepsy surgical investigations. At the same time, we are now expanding our department to be able to admit children with other diagnoses who need emergency care.
Every child treated on the ward has a unique clinical picture and therefore needs individual solutions and treatments. We provide both emergency and planned care at several different levels. As a nurse or pediatric nurse with us, you have great opportunities to develop within your profession and gain broad knowledge within our specialties.
To be able to provide highly specialized care, cooperation between several different professions is of great importance. Nurses, assistant nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and administrators work on the ward. In addition, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, psychologists, medical secretaries, and play therapists are linked to the ward. The patient's unique needs determine which professions should be part of the team around the individual child and family. We have close cooperation between all professional groups, an education-oriented culture, and, not least, a pleasant workplace. We work child- and family-centered and follow the Nordic Association for Sick Children's Needs (NOBAB) standard and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

DUTIES
We are now welcoming three nurses or pediatric nurses to our team at the Department of Child and Adolescent Medicine in Lund.
As a nurse/pediatric nurse with us, you work to provide the child and family with the best possible care and treatment. On a typical day, you engage in sampling, examinations, ward rounds, medication management, and coordination with other professions. Since we are a department where we perform both emergency and planned surgeries, you also work with pre- and postoperative care.
As a new colleague, you will receive an individually adapted introduction program of at least ten weeks, where you, together with your supervisor, build a good foundation and create conditions for you to feel secure in your new role. You are offered a training program in pediatric care during the first year. To strengthen your professional and personal development, we have unit-responsible nurses at the workplace. Their function is to be part of your introduction and development and to take on the role of mentor for you after the introduction is completed. With us, you have the opportunity for competence development as we regularly have training, both internally and externally, and the opportunity for observation in other operations.
You work two out of five weekends with a rolling ten-week schedule. Each schedule period includes time allocated for education and improvement work. Working hours are arranged through a preference schedule.
The positions include fixed-term contracts running until 2027-12-31 as well as permanent employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed nurse or further educated pediatric nurse with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, you have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. With us, no day is like the other, which is why it is important that you can plan, prioritize, and have a holistic perspective when acute situations arise that require the work to be adapted. You see the value of good cooperation and contribute to this yourself by sharing your knowledge and experiences. Your commitment and positive attitude contribute to a good work climate. Everyone helps each other here and cooperates to achieve the best care quality for our patients. Furthermore, you naturally have an empathetic approach in your work and treat both colleagues and families based on Region Skåne's values. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
