Company Commander

The Military Academy Karlberg is seeking a Company Commander to be placed on the Logistics and Security Department at the Cadet Battalion.

At the Military Academy Karlberg (MHS K), basic officer training for cadets is conducted within the framework of the three-year Officer Program (OP), led by the Swedish Defence University (FHS). The OP leads to a professional degree of 180 higher education credits and the rank of Ensign upon employment in the Swedish Armed Forces (FM).

Parallel to this, the Cadet Battalion conducts military professional training during what is known as Swedish Armed Forces Time (FMT), which includes leadership and individual development, military skills, and physical training. The Cadet Battalion supports the Swedish Defence University in implementing the Officer Program, primarily regarding exercise planning, security, and logistics during exercises.

Main Responsibilities

Working as a Company Commander at the Cadet Battalion involves supporting the companies regarding logistics planning for the unit's operations, primarily within the sub-functions of supply provision, transport services, and partly other logistics support and commandant duties.

To solve tasks before, during, and after implementation in connection with daily operations, exercises, travel, and transport, as well as material planning on both short and long term, within the company's scope.

The operations may vary in character and scope, where a flexible approach and task adaptation are prerequisites for achieving expected results.

Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Order/book catering, accommodation, transport, and other supplies for planned operations.
  • Collaborate both internally at the Military Academy Karlberg and externally between the Swedish Armed Forces' units and schools as well as the Swedish Defence University.
  • Collaborate with and support other parts of the Cadet Battalion regarding logistics support operations.
  • Participate in the planning work for practical cadet exercises nationally and internationally.
  • Support material planning for material in use.
  • Support the maintenance of functional and operational readiness for material in use.
  • Support inventory of the battalion's common material.
  • Be ready to support regarding the coordination of logistics.

Requirements

  • Specialist Officer OR6/7 (Sergeant/Staff Sergeant/Warrant Officer) or Officer OF1/2 (Ensign/Lieutenant/Captain) with a prognosis for changing personnel category.
  • Category B Driver's License.

Qualifications that are Meritorious

  • Previous service within the logistics function, regardless of level.
  • Logistics education.
  • Driver's License BE, C, CE.
  • Military driving permits.
  • Hazardous goods training (FM FG1000 and/or ADR).
  • PRIO 5/6 training.
