Quality Coordinator for VO Eyes, Region Gävleborg
The Business Area (VO) Eyes provides both emergency and planned specialist care in Region Gävleborg. Within the business area, there are outpatient and surgical operations as well as vision rehabilitation on three locations in the county; Gävle, Hudiksvall, and Bollnäs.

Job Description
As a Quality Coordinator, you work across the entire county and are a key person in developing the quality and safety of care. You have analytical skills and can identify risks where your opinions on patient safety and quality are important. You sit on the management group and support the business manager, deputy business manager, and unit managers in matters regarding quality, patient safety, and business development. You work closely with our medically responsible doctors in various investigations and analyses, as well as follow-ups. VO Eyes is in a development phase where new working methods and structures need to be formed to meet future care needs.
As a Quality Coordinator with us, you will among other things:
- drive, coordinate, and develop patient safety work with an active role in the management group
- support managers and employees in deviation handling and patient committee cases, compile deviations, and together with unit managers compile patient cases and report to the management group
- lead/participate in incident, internal, and risk analyses and together with the business manager ensure that results are translated into improvement measures
- be responsible for all or parts of the business's document control in the document management system Platina, which means creating, reviewing, and following up on documents, as well as supporting the business in the process and implementation
- structure and follow up on patient safety work in the system support Stratsys patient safety module, including the annual patient safety report
- support business development through analysis, training, and close collaboration with managers and section leaders
- participate in the management group and in the medical management group as an expert in quality and patient safety.

Qualifications
As a Quality Coordinator, you have a central role in ensuring good care quality and high patient safety. You have analytical skills and identify challenges in the business and translate them into concrete, sustainable solutions. The work is characterized by good planning and organizational skills, where structure and clarity create prerequisites for both effective improvement work and secure care. You have the ability to support managers and employees. In a complex and sometimes pressured environment, you are stress-resistant and maintain focus even when conditions change quickly. Through good collaboration skills and drive, you have a strong ability to lead and drive change work, with the patient's best interest and the business's long-term development at the center. It is also important for the position that you are receptive and have good analytical skills.
In the role of Quality Coordinator, you should:
- have a relevant university education within health and social care
- have worked at least two years within health and social care
- have documented experience of quality work
- be able to express yourself well in speech and writing
- have good computer skills.
For this position, it is meritorious if you have knowledge of laws and regulations within health and social care.
