With approximately 388,000 visitors in 2019, more than half of whom were children and young people, we offer a fantastic holistic experience with the goal of welcoming 500,000 visitors per year. We are both a science center and Sweden's largest technical museum, where children and adults together explore and discover how everything connects – from the dawn of industry to the grand visions of the future.

About the role

We are looking for an engaged and responsible individual to join our Explainer team. As an Explainer, you are a key figure in our Public Operations, responsible for delivering exciting tours, providing excellent service at Information and the gift shop, and ensuring our public areas are welcoming.

Responsibilities include

• Conducting guided tours, program activities, and workshops for various visitor groups.
• Collaborating with the Events Department for conferences, corporate visits, and other events.
• Actively participating in daily operations and ensuring that exhibition areas maintain high quality standards.
• Staffing the cash register and gift shop.

Qualifications

• Experience as a guide, in event operations, or similar experience in a cultural or educational environment is advantageous.
• Strong self-leadership and the ability to motivate and support a team.
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, as tours are conducted in both languages.

Application

The positions are part-time (45 %) with a 6-month probation period. Working hours include weekdays, weekends, and school holidays. The role primarily involves evening shifts on weekdays and every other weekend. We conduct ongoing selection and interviews and will fill the positions as soon as we find the right candidate.
