Job Description

At AFRY Hydro Nordics, we face an exciting future as one of the world's largest consulting firms within hydropower and dams. In Sweden, we are currently 120 consultants who together drive development within hydropower and provide services from early stages, concepts, and feasibility studies, to implementation and execution as well as operation and maintenance. This includes expertise from all technical areas, e.g., geotechnics and embankment dams, concrete structures, rock, construction technology, hydraulics, turbine and generator technology, hydromechanical equipment, as well as electrical and control systems. AFRY also supports and participates in the NAP process and provides technical services for the design and implementation of facility-specific environmental adaptations in the various project phases.

To our team in Solna, we are now looking for more colleagues who want to develop in a consultant role and drive successful hydropower projects together with us. In this role, you will work broadly with issues within hydropower and dams, focusing on concrete structures in all project phases. This may include permit checks, investigations, and feasibility studies, design and construction supervision, as well as execution controls and inspections. Your tasks may vary depending on the project, as well as based on your background and interests.

You will become a valuable addition to an engaged team where you are given good opportunities to develop, influence, and make a difference. We collaborate broadly across the country within Hydro and within AFRY, as well as through international collaborations. The work is usually performed from the office or home office, and travel and site visits to the facilities occur as a natural part of the role.

Qualifications

You have a good ability to plan and structure your work to ensure both precision and efficiency in your projects.

Equally important is that you thrive in a collaborative role with many contact surfaces. You communicate attentively and clearly and create clear expectations in your collaborations. Since we operate in a customer-focused business, we also see that you enjoy creating and developing relationships, both internally and externally, and if you already have an established network within the hydropower industry, it is a plus.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

• At least three years of experience in hydropower and dams where you have worked with concrete structures
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English

We consider it meritorious if you have:

• RIDAS training
• Experience as a project manager and/or technical lead
• Experience in dam safety work
• Category B driver's license

Since the position may involve working in security-classified areas, drug testing and security clearance with possible register check according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act may become relevant.
