to apply for the job

We are not looking for someone who can just fill channels.

We are looking for someone who can fill people with curiosity. Someone who understands that good content doesn't start with a camera or a keyboard, but with an idea that holds together, develops, and carries through the entire communication.

About the workplace

As an employer, the City of Helsingborg has approximately 10,000 employees and 470 managers. The City Executive Office is one of nine departments and is led by our Deputy City Directors. We have an important and exciting assignment where we lead, develop, and coordinate the municipality's operations in overarching and common areas, offering services and products requested by the Municipal Executive Board, departments, and companies, including joint functions that target Helsingborg residents directly and, in collaboration with external partners, create conditions for a positive development of Helsingborg.

At the City of Helsingborg, we are currently building a new Marketing and Production Unit. A modern in-house agency that aims to push the boundaries of how a city can think, create, and communicate.

We aim to create communication that feels like a leading brand. Smart. Relevant. And often with a bit of a cunning twist.

We are now looking for the person who will lead our content.

Responsibilities

As Content Lead, you are responsible for the editorial direction of Helsingborg's place marketing. You lead the work on our content strategy and ensure that all content – from campaigns and web to social media, film, and events – hangs together in a unified narrative. You are responsible for our content plan, develop stories that strengthen Helsingborg's brand, and lead the editorial work together with colleagues in the same field. You are equally comfortable discussing a long-term content strategy as you are polishing a headline five minutes before publication.

You will, among other things:

  • develop and drive Helsingborg's content strategy
  • be responsible for editorial planning across all channels
  • develop tone, storytelling, and narratives
  • ensure that content creates impact and builds the brand
  • plan, produce, and capture feeling in images through both photography and moving images
  • work closely with the marketing strategist, production manager, and art director in the development of campaigns and concepts
  • follow up on content using data, insights, and analysis.

What we offer

This is not a job where you manage a content calendar. This is a job where you get to help build one of Sweden's most ambitious in-house agencies within place marketing. We work on issues that affect how people choose to live, invest, establish businesses, study, and visit Helsingborg. We believe in high ambitions, smart ideas, and quality in every delivery.

Our goal is simple: To create communication that makes a difference. For people, for the city, and for the future.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • have at least three years of higher education or university studies in communication, marketing, journalism, or another area that the employer considers equivalent
  • have at least five years of experience in strategic content work, editorial work, or brand communication
  • have worked with content for strong brands and know how stories are built across multiple channels
  • are a skilled writer and storyteller with excellent linguistic ability
  • are an experienced photographer and filmmaker with experience in editing and post-production of photos and moving images
  • have a good understanding of how different channels interact and how content creates impact
  • have very good editorial judgment and a high sense of quality
  • are accustomed to driving creative processes and developing ideas from concept to final delivery.
