Berghemsskolan is a preschool to grade 6 school with approximately 250 students. With proximity to Gammlia, Stadsliden's outdoor area, and Bräntberget, there are great opportunities for exciting outdoor activities. Here, qualified teachers with long experience work, and the leisure staff are also involved in school work. Berghemsskolan is one of Umeå Municipality's training schools, which means that during the academic year, it hosts teacher students for their practice-based education (VFU). We are now looking for a primary school teacher for teaching in grade 1 during the autumn term!

Employment Information

The position is a fixed-term appointment, full-time, starting 2026-08-10 and ending 2026-12-18.

Job Responsibilities

In this position, you will work in grade 1. Your task as a primary school teacher is to plan and conduct teaching as a class teacher based on the curriculum, as well as to do more overarching planning together with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze teaching, as well as assess and document students' knowledge development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to students' goal achievement. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing the student and guardian about the student's knowledge development.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary teaching based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teacher role is building good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Primary School Teacher degree for grades F-3
• Have/applied for teacher certification
• Experience working in preschool class or lower primary school
• Valid extract from the criminal record register
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing
