Your Responsibilities

As a Strategic Buyer at Saab, you will take on a business-critical role in a team with a clear business focus. You will drive purchasing work in development and delivery projects, ensuring efficient, sustainable contracts and strong supplier collaborations – both short-term and long-term. In your role, you will:

• Have commercial responsibility in projects and continuously evaluate the supplier portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with Saab’s purchasing strategy, policies, and procedures.
• Act as project manager for a product category towards business units as well as development and production projects.
• Analyze technical and commercial conditions to define purchasing strategies.
• Participate in quotation work and costing.
• Coordinate and act as a sub-project manager in purchasing matters internally and serve as a bridge between technology, production, and business.

Your Profile

As a person, you are responsible and relationship-building, with the ability to drive projects and teams forward towards common goals. You have strong analytical thinking and are accustomed to making and anchoring strategic decisions in close collaboration with colleagues and suppliers.

We would like you to have:

• A post-secondary education in purchasing, technology, or economics, or equivalent work experience.
• At least a couple of years of experience in strategic purchasing, project purchasing, and/or project management.
• An interest in technology and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new areas.
• Very good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both verbal and written.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data handling and analysis.

Merits for the role:

• Experience from a similar role in the technical industry or a similar sector.
• Experience with purchasing and business systems, preferably IFS.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
