Software Engineer in V&V for Onboard Chargers (OBC)

We are entering an expansive phase with several exciting assignments and projects incoming in the field of Verification & Validation of Onboard Chargers (OBC). Therefore, we are now looking for you who want to help shape the future of electrified mobility.

As a Software Engineer in V&V for OBC, you will have the opportunity to work with a broad technical scope, be part of advanced development environments, and simultaneously contribute to providing our customers with safe and high-performing charging systems.

In this role, you will work broadly with verification and validation of Onboard Chargers (OBC) within various customer projects. You will become an important part of our technical deliveries and work closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure that our solutions meet the highest quality standards.

The work covers the entire chain of testing and validation activities – from requirement review and breakdown to test plans, through to the execution of functional tests, system tests, and various types of environmental and climate validations. You will work both in laboratory environments, in climate chambers, and out in the field, contributing to the development of test methods, test environments, and automated tests.

A central part of the role is to analyze test results, identify deviations and improvement opportunities, as well as compile reports and present your recommendations to both technical teams and project organizations. You will collaborate cross-functionally with several areas of expertise and thus have a coordinating role in many of the assignments.

This role suits you if you want to combine practical testing work, technical analysis, and collaboration in an environment where new projects and technical solutions are constantly being developed.

Your Profile

  • At least 4 years of experience in software testing related to OBC
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field, such as Engineering Physics, Vehicle Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience in breaking down requirements into test plans
  • Good knowledge of measurement systems and sensors for software testing
  • Programming skills in C/C++ or Python
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, CANalyser, CANoe, or FlexRay
  • HIL experience with systems such as dSpace or ETAS
  • Experience working with tools such as INCA, MDA, and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Knowledge of standards such as ISO15118, ISO61851, ISO18246
  • Valid driver's license (Category B)
  • Fluent in Swedish and English

Meritorious:

  • Experience in coordinating roles or cross-functional work
  • Background in electrification or e-mobility

To thrive and succeed in this role, we see that you have an analytical and structured approach, where you can break down complex technical issues and create clarity in both processes and test methodology. You are proactive and self-motivated, taking responsibility for driving your work forward while valuing collaboration and actively contributing to the team's common goals.

Since the role involves frequent contact with both colleagues and customers, you are communicative, relationship-building, and confident in presenting technical results in an easily understandable way. You are a natural problem solver who thrives in a practical environment where you get to test, analyze, and improve – and you see opportunities even when challenges arise.

We also believe that you have a strong desire to develop and keep up with new technology. You thrive in a changing environment where priorities may shift, and you have the ability to maintain focus and structure even when multiple tasks are ongoing in parallel.

We Offer

  • At AVL, you become part of a global technology company at the forefront of development, simulation, and testing in the future of mobility. As the world's largest independent player in the field, with over 12,000 employees internationally, we drive innovation for a greener, safer, and better world of mobility.
  • Our focus extends across the entire value chain – from early idea and concept phases to industrialization and series production. We work with advanced technology in electrification, software, autonomous driving, digitalization, and energy-efficient powertrains, and help our customers shape future mobility solutions.
  • With us, you get a workplace where you can grow, influence, and help drive technological development forward – making a real difference for the future of mobility!
