Do you want to help develop Sweden's transport infrastructure and create sustainable solutions for future generations? As a Geotechnical Designer at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you will have the opportunity to work on some of the country's most complex and critically important infrastructure projects. Here, you will use your technical expertise to develop safe and cost-effective geotechnical structures while contributing to strengthening Trafikverket's role as a modern and sustainable client organization. We are now looking for an experienced Geotechnical Designer who wants to help develop our projects within the road, railway, and construction sectors.

As a Geotechnical Designer, you will be a key specialist resource in Trafikverket's investment projects. You will contribute technical expertise throughout the entire project process - from planning and design to production and follow-up.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and quality-assuring geotechnical structures during the design and construction phases, particularly retaining structures.
• Providing specialist support in geotechnical design to project managers and other technical disciplines.
• Participating in the development and review of technical documentation, calculations, and design solutions.
• Evaluating and verifying solutions for foundations, retaining structures, and temporary structures.
• Contributing to technical investigations and risk assessments.
• Collaborating with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders in the projects.
• Contributing to the development of working methods, technical requirements, and regulations within the field of geotechnical design.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with geotechnical engineers, project managers, and other technical specialists within Trafikverket.

We are looking for someone who

• holds a university degree in civil engineering, civil engineering (roads and water), geotechnics, or another education combined with experience that Trafikverket considers equivalent
• has many years of experience working with geotechnical design, particularly retaining structures, within infrastructure or construction projects
• has experience in designing and reviewing geotechnical structures, including temporary structures such as sheet piles, excavation support, and temporary retaining structures
• has good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you

• have experience working in road and/or railway projects as a client, consultant, or contractor
• have experience working according to Trafikverket's technical requirements, regulations, and standards
• have experience in project leadership, technical responsibility, or coordinating specialist roles
• have knowledge of BIM and model-based design
• have experience with advanced calculation tools for geotechnical design, such as PLAXIS
• have experience working in multidisciplinary projects with multiple technical disciplines
