About Us

The Simulator Department belongs to the Flight Unit at F 7 Såtenäs. The department's mission is to operate and maintain our JAS39C Gripen, JAS39E Gripen, and C130 Hercules simulators, as well as tactical support systems. We also support other units and export countries with JAS39 simulators and tactical support systems.

Main Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will work with the operation and maintenance of our JAS39 Gripen simulator. Your work will include everything from control, troubleshooting, repair, support, and administration of simulators and tactical support systems to daily test flights of the simulators.

Qualifications

For this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

• University education in a direction assessed as relevant by the employer, or other experience that the employer can assess as equivalent
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English
• Category B driver's license (manual transmission)
• Swedish citizenship

Meritorious Qualifications

• Experience in computer system maintenance and system administration
• Good administrative skills
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot complex technical systems
• Knowledge of UNIX, Windows, networks, databases, electronics, aircraft maintenance, or flight simulators

• Salary: We apply individual salary setting. The lowest placement for this position is 38,000 SEK/month; further, we take previous work experience and competence into account.

The position entails requirements for physical and mental capacity, conducting official travel, participating in training, and exercises in the wartime organization. Health care and physical training are a natural part of everyday life, and the position entails requirements for certain physical capacity. Since both positions and tasks are linked to a wartime organization, you will also be assigned to wartime duties. This means, among other things, that you will receive training on what is expected of you during heightened readiness.

Skaraborg Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here, combat aircraft and the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aircraft are located. We conduct basic and position training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions. In Sweden, the operations are located in Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport air cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
