The Swedish Fortification Agency is seeking a Security Clearance Officer for the Control and Security Vetting Unit, focusing on security clearance agreements. Your daily work – strengthening security in the total defense

The Swedish Fortification Agency is in a strong expansion phase with large investment volumes to develop and build facilities and structures for the total defense. The Security Department is responsible for the agency's security clearance and works with security clearance analysis, physical security, information security, personnel security, incident management, signal security, and security clearance agreements. The department currently consists of approximately 80 employees.

The Control and Security Vetting Unit is part of the Security Department and operates throughout Sweden. The unit supports the agency's operations and is responsible for steering, coordination, and follow-up within security clearance agreements and personnel security.

As a Security Clearance Officer, you support the agency's operations in matters concerning security clearance agreements through advice, coordination, and training. You work, among other things, with the security vetting of suppliers and conduct qualified assessments to ensure that only companies and persons who are reliable from a security perspective participate in the agency's security-sensitive operations. The role also involves coordinating and creating good conditions for collaboration between internal operations as well as external actors, authorities, and organizations.

The place of work is Eskilstuna, and travel occurs in the position. The position requires presence at the workplace in Eskilstuna and does not offer the possibility of remote or home work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university or college education in a field that the employer considers relevant, or alternatively other post-secondary education combined with experience assessed as equivalent.

You have several years of experience in qualified administrative work or case processing within the public sector. You are accustomed to working based on laws, regulations, and governing documents and have good ability to familiarize yourself with, interpret, and apply complex information in your work.

You have good knowledge of administrative IT support systems and express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A driver's license with at least category B is a requirement.

It is meritorious if you have post-secondary education with a focus on security clearance. Experience with qualified security clearance assessments and handling of applications for register checks is also meritorious. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience in giving lectures or conducting training initiatives. Experience in working based on the Swedish Armed Forces' regulations on security clearance is also seen as meritorious.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. To succeed in the role, you need to work in a structured and careful manner and have the ability to create order and overview even when several cases are ongoing in parallel. You have an analytical approach and can familiarize yourself with, evaluate, and translate complex information into well-founded assessments. The role involves many contact surfaces, which places demands on good cooperation skills and a professional approach. You are confident in your professional role, stand by your assessments even in sensitive matters, and have the ability to distinguish between facts and persons.

Furthermore, you have a high security awareness, high integrity, and good judgment. You have a strong understanding of the importance of security clearance and a stated drive to contribute to protecting Sweden's security.

About the employment

The position is a permanent position and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be war-placed. The place of work is Eskilstuna. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. Security vetting with register check will be carried out before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
