Social Worker for the Foster Care Team in Borlänge
Do you want to work with an important and long-term social assignment where relationships, quality, and development are at the center? Borlänge Municipality is now seeking dedicated social workers for our foster care team within the Child and Family Unit. We are in a development phase focused on quality, and we are therefore expanding our team. We are looking for you who want to make a difference for children, young people, and foster families in Borlänge Municipality.
About the Department
The Individual and Family Care (IFO) is one of three operations within the Social and Employment Administration. It includes the Child and Family Unit, the Reception and Prevention Unit, and the Unit for Social Interventions for Young People and Adults. The Child and Family Unit (BFE) consists of six teams: Family Law, Foster Care, the Criminal Group, and three Child and Young People teams. One of the child and young people teams works with placements, one with investigations, and one combines investigations and follow-up of open care interventions. Each team is led by a Senior Social Worker, and the unit also has two Deputy Unit Managers and one Unit Manager.

Responsibilities
As a social worker in the foster care team, you have a central and significant responsibility in the work regarding placed children and young people. Your assignment involves recruiting, investigating, supporting, supervising, and educating foster families, as well as contact families and contact persons, including assignments related to social psychiatry.
You will collaborate very closely with the social worker responsible for the placed child or young person, and you will work together to create safety, stability, and high quality in the intervention. The work also involves collaboration with other authorities and actors, such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, guardians ad litem, specially appointed custodians, and the Swedish Migration Agency.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to think creatively, contribute with suggestions for improvement, and participate in the development of foster care work in Borlänge Municipality. The work is varied and takes place both independently and together with colleagues.
You will become part of a group with strong collegial support. In the team, there is a Senior Social Worker with supervisory responsibility who supports and guides you in your daily work. Together, you have regular team meetings where current issues are discussed, as well as continuous case reviews.

We also conduct systematic quality work as a natural part of the operations.
A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required for employment according to current legislation.
Qualifications and Merits
Basic requirements for the position:
- A degree in Social Work or a relevant higher education of at least 2 years for the position
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
- Category B driver's license

Meritorious qualifications:
- Experience of work within social services, especially within foster care or child and young people's area
- Training in BBIC
- Knowledge of the operation system VIVA
- Training, experience, or knowledge about NPD diagnoses
- Training in Signs of Safety
- Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing)
- Training in "A Home to Grow In"
