The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also operates closed youth care facilities. We do this through youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS LVM-home Älvgården in Hedemora receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse, often in combination with mental health issues.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the position of Treatment Pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often encounter people in crisis, which means you will work with qualified nursing and motivational work, as well as providing support in daily life. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure daily life runs smoothly with cleaning, cooking, and more. Contact person duties are also part of your responsibilities. The role may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule, day - evening, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the therapist role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and easily build relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You collaborate easily with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
You must also have:
- A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
- Category B driver's license
- Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
Merits
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
- Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Prison Officer
- Security guard training
- Education in care and nursing
- Experience working with our target group (e.g., addiction care, youth care, young girls, etc.)

Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probation period. Start date according to agreement.
