The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. We have an offer for you if you apply for and are hired at SiS Youth Home Johannisberg, unit Sävast, which means an extra salary supplement of 2,000 SEK/month for 18 months in addition to the individual base salary.
Job Description
SiS Youth Home Johannisberg consists of two units, one in Sävast and one in Kalix. Our target group in Sävast is school-age girls with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. All work is permeated by our keywords Respect, Care, and Clarity. As a new employee, you are offered a thorough introduction, basic training, and further education in areas such as safety, unauthorized influence, conflict management, CPR, and more.
As a Treatment Assistant, you work in a team on the ward together with competent colleagues who are waiting for you to become part of the team. The daily work involves building secure relationships and motivating our young people towards new and less risky ways of living. You play an important role in the stability of our young people and provide the foundation for daily life with school attendance, activities, cooking, and cleaning. As a Treatment Assistant, you also contribute to maintaining safety on the institution according to our guidelines and routines.
Working hours are scheduled according to a rotating schedule of days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who have the ability to build trusting relationships with our young people. You have a positive view of humanity and your driving force is to work with young people. You share our ethical guidelines (https://www.stat-inst.se/var-verksamhet/riktlinje-for-etik/) and see the operation as a place for change. As a person, you relate to people in a listening and flexible manner, while also being able to set boundaries and follow decisions made. You are secure, stable, and have the ability to maintain a professional attitude even in pressured situations. You work well with other people and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Good Swedish in speech and writing
- Good physical fitness
- Category B driver's license
*Exceptions to the requirement of at least two years of post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468). To make an exception, at least a high school diploma is required in combination with relevant work experience. Please attach high school transcripts and/or certificates for post-secondary education to your application. High school transcripts/certificates issued in another country must be translated and validated in Sweden via the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).
Meritorious:
- Experience from working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example within psychiatry, healthcare and social care, prison and probation service, or equivalent
Employment
The positions are permanent full-time positions and begin with a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
