Pool, Sami Language Support / Leisure Center Leader / Resource Teacher

The Sami School Board is a government agency with its administration, including school director, controllers, HR, and case handlers, located in Jåhkåmåhkke.

The Sami school is an educational form equivalent to the basic school, offering education from pre-school class to year 6. The starting point for the teaching is Sami culture and the Sami language according to the curriculum for the Sami school. The Sami School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sami School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sami School Board organizes distance education in the Sami languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sami education.

Responsibilities

You will work as a pool member, Sami language supporter in the school, but also as a resource person. After school hours, your role transitions to being a pool member, language supporter/leisure center leader/resource at the leisure center.

You have the ability to see all students and take into account their individual prerequisites. You contribute to their learning during school hours and leisure time. You can observe and utilize group dynamics to develop students' communication skills, as well as listen to, interpret, and understand others' viewpoints and ways of expressing themselves. You enjoy building relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Together with other colleagues in the work team, you will be responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and follow-up/evaluation of the activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with at least a three-year upper secondary education with a pedagogical focus or other education that the employer deems suitable. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a leisure center and/or as a resource person.

You master Sami, preferably Lule Sami, both orally and in writing.

You have patience, problem-solving skills, and are positive and creative. You are good at seeing opportunities. You have good collaboration skills and an interest in building relationships.

You are meticulous, flexible, and attuned to the students' needs, and you enjoy working with children and young people.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for you who have documented good collaboration skills.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
