Doctor.se is Sweden's largest digital healthcare provider. We combine physical clinics with a digital platform that handles millions of consultations annually - within a profitable international organization with over 1,000 employees and more than 1 billion SEK in revenue. Our tech team of 25 people enjoys startup freedom backed by enterprise stability.
We use OpenAI and Anthropic in internal tools and clinical support, and are actively exploring how AI can improve more parts of our platform - including the mobile experience.
The RoleYou will become part of our mobile team - working alongside two iOS developers and one additional Android developer. It is a small team with significant responsibility, and you are expected to take ownership of the Android platform.
This is not a maintenance role. We are actively modernizing our Android architecture, increasing test coverage, and making decisions on how we build forward. You will have real influence over technical directions - not just delivering features according to spec.
What you will work withBuilding new features from idea to launch in close collaboration with product managers and designers.
Driving and improving Android architecture - we want you to have opinions on how things should be built.
Building interfaces with Jetpack Compose and Material Design with a focus on user experience and accessibility.
Improving testing practices in the team - we value TDD experience highly and want to strengthen that culture.
Exploring how AI can be integrated into the mobile experience - it is early days, and you have the opportunity to help shape the direction.
Using AI as a tool in your own development process. We expect you to use modern AI tools to work faster and smarter.
Responsible for publishing on Google Play and continuously improving the release process.
Collaborate with the iOS team to ensure a cohesive experience across platforms.
Share knowledge and lift the team through code reviews, pair programming, and technical discussions.
At least 5 years of experience in professional Android development with Kotlin.
Jetpack Compose: You build with Compose today, you haven't just tested it. You understand state management, recomposition, and how to structure a Compose-based codebase.
Architecture: Solid understanding of MVI, MVVM, and modern Android architectural patterns. You have experience with modular codebases and know how to keep them manageable.
Frameworks: Experience with Hilt, Kotlin Coroutines/Flow, and Retrofit.
Testing: Experience writing unit tests and UI tests. TDD experience is highly desirable.
AI Interest: You don't need to have built AI systems - but you must have a genuine interest and have experimented on your own. You want to be part of exploring how AI can improve mobile products.
Ownership: You drive work forward without needing to be told. You suggest improvements, you don't just implement what is in the ticket.
Education: Relevant university degree or equivalent experience.
Language: Kotlin
UI: Jetpack Compose, Material Design

Stable employer. Profitable international healthcare organization, not a startup burning through capital.
Collective agreement, 30 days of vacation, pension plan (ITP1), fitness allowance, personal education allowance.
Start: As soon as possible. We adapt to your notice period.
Employment: Permanent full-time position with a six-month probation period.
Location: On-site Monday–Thursday at Sveavägen 63, Stockholm. Fridays are flexible.
