Job Description
The person we are looking for will conduct research and contribute to the continued development of the research environment within physics, chemistry, materials science, or applied physics, related to materials for sustainable technologies in a broad context. The Assistant Professor may be affiliated with the Wallenberg Initiative Material Science for Sustainability (WISE). The duties include developing pedagogical qualifications, which encompass teaching at undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as supervising doctoral students and postdocs. The employee is expected to actively seek external funding for their research activities. The appointment is limited to 6 years, consisting of 75% independent research and 25% teaching. The position is a "tenure-track" appointment, which makes it possible to develop and establish long-term research. An Assistant Professor has the right to be considered for promotion to Associate Professor upon request.

Qualifications
Eligible for appointment as an Assistant Professor is someone who has completed a doctoral degree or has equivalent scientific competence. Preference should be given to those who have completed a doctoral degree or reached equivalent competence no more than seven years prior to the time of application for the position of Assistant Professor.
However, those who have completed a doctoral degree or achieved equivalent competence earlier may also be considered if there are special reasons. Special reasons refer to leave due to illness, parental leave, or other similar circumstances.
The doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence must be in physics, chemistry, materials science, or applied physics, related to materials for sustainable technologies in a broad context, and relevant to the receiving department at the faculty.
Good knowledge of English is required, both spoken and written.
Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation criteria for the appointment of an Assistant Professor shall be the degree of such skill that is a requirement for eligibility for the appointment.
In addition, the degree of pedagogical skill and other skills of significance in view of the subject content of the appointment and the tasks included in the appointment shall be taken into account.

Weighting of the Different Evaluation Criteria
In the selection of applicants for the position, the degree of scientific skill shall be decisive. In addition, the degree of pedagogical skill and other skills of significance in view of the subject content of the appointment and the tasks included in the appointment shall be taken into account. The ability to develop and lead activities and personnel at the university, as well as the ability to cooperate and collaborate with the surrounding society and inform about research and development work, will be considered.
