Futuregames is one of Sweden's leading schools in game development. For over 20 years, we have prepared individuals for careers in gaming, tech, and digital innovation – in close collaboration with industry-leading companies. Today, we offer vocational higher education programs in games, data, and tech with operations in both Sweden and Poland. Futuregames is part of AcadeMedia, Northern Europe's largest education company. Together with our industry partners, we train tomorrow's creators, programmers, and designers. Our alumni currently make up over 14% of the Swedish gaming industry.

Do you want to help shape the game developers of the future?

Futuregames is now looking for a structured, confident, and engaged Education Manager with site responsibility for our operations in Umeå. Here, you will take on a key role within one of Europe's leading game education programs, combining educational leadership, daily operations, and industry collaboration.

Futuregames trains the game developers of the future in close collaboration with the gaming industry. Our programs are developed together with leading studios and companies to ensure that our students acquire the skills demanded by the labor market.

About the Role

As an Education Manager, you are responsible for driving and developing several of our educational programs. You ensure high quality in the delivery of education, build strong relationships with the industry, and ensure that operations comply with the regulations of the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education (Yrkeshögskolan). In this role, you work closely with students, lecturers, industry partners, and internal functions.

You also have site responsibility for the operations in Umeå as well as the operations in Boden (to be phased out in May 2027), ensuring that daily operations run smoothly with a pleasant study environment and that Futuregames is represented professionally in the northern region.

This is a role for you if you thrive on combining structure, administration, and quality with relationships, problem-solving, and continuous operational development.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, staff, and ensure quality of education according to the regulations of the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education.
  • Be responsible for student contacts, administration, and scheduling.
  • Monitor students' progression, engagement, and results.
  • Coordinate and develop contacts with companies regarding LIA (Work Integrated Learning) and industry collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development of educational content together with lead teachers and the industry.
  • Have operational and personnel responsibility for Futuregames in Umeå and for Boden during the phase-out period.
  • Be responsible for local working environment and daily operations in both locations.
  • The goal is clear: that our students leave Futuregames well-prepared for a career in the gaming industry.

We are looking for someone who

We believe you have experience in educational leadership or project management and have previously had personnel responsibility. You have a post-secondary education in fields such as games, technology, media, pedagogy, or equivalent.

As a person, you are structured, independent, and confident, with strong administrative skills and high digital competence.

You are driven by creating good relationships and having many contact points, which makes it easy for you to build trust with students, colleagues, and external partners. As a leader, you are coaching, inclusive, and solution-oriented. You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have

  • Experience from higher vocational education or other post-secondary education.
  • Experience in quality work or agency-regulated education.
  • Experience in change management or operational development.
  • Experience from the gaming industry or a network within the game industry.

We offer

At Futuregames, you become part of a creative and international educational environment where the gaming industry and learning meet. You will have significant personal responsibility, the opportunity to influence the development of operations, and the chance to work together with engaged colleagues and some of the industry's leading players.

With us, you receive collective agreement benefits and insurances, fitness allowance, pension counseling, staff discounts, as well as the opportunity for favorable purchases via net and gross salary exchange. Read more here.
