YOUR NEW JOB

We are looking for a study and career counselor who will have the important function of helping our students find their paths to studies and take steps into the future working life. Your role is to connect the school's and working life's parts into a whole and create conditions for further studies and work. In the role of study and career counselor, you have a central and important role in primary school and adult education. The position as study and career counselor is 100% and is distributed between Renfors School and adult education.

YOUR COMPETENCE

We are looking for you who have a study and career counselor degree and we would like to see that you have experience of similar work. Experience of adult education or work with adults in advisory contexts is also advantageous. You are skilled at advising students individually and you also feel comfortable speaking in front of groups. You communicate in a professional and clear way in both speech and writing.

We are looking for you who have a solution-focused work approach where you see opportunities and can take your own initiatives. You are service-oriented and have a good attitude. You also have good cooperation skills that contribute to a good working climate. You also need to have the ability to plan, organize and prioritize your work yourself.

REQUIREMENTS

For this position, it is required that you present a valid extract from the Police's criminal record and suspicion register before employment.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

You will work at Renfors School, a 7-9 school in central Vindeln as well as adult education. Renfors School is located in a beautiful natural environment with proximity to forest, river and nature reserve. You get to the school easily by car, bus or train from Umeå and carpooling is also possible, as we have many commuters with Umeå as the starting point.

Among us, in addition to certified teachers and leisure leaders, there is also a special needs educator, school nurse, assistants, student coach, study and career counselor, and counselor. Renfors School has actively worked together with the business community in the municipality in recent years. At Renfors School, we also have a pronounced teamwork. You are never alone with challenges and questions, but we always try to support each other.

Adult education is an important actor in the work of raising the education level of the municipality's inhabitants. Our mission is to support and stimulate adult learning and provide opportunities to develop knowledge and skills to strengthen the individual's position in working and social life and for personal development. We also collaborate with other operations to enable paths to work or further studies.
