Welcome to Ekbacken School

Ekbacken School is a preschool class to year 6 school with after-school centers and a youth club, located in Fellingsbro, a small community approximately 30 km (18 miles) outside Örebro. The school offers pleasant learning environments where nature is close by. Nearby amenities include playgrounds, an ice hall, a swimming pool for summer bathing, and jogging trails.

Currently, there are approximately 175 students at the school, and around 25 staff members work here. At Ekbacken School, we work together towards safety, focus on work, and maximum knowledge development. The school is currently launching a development project in collaboration with the Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) and Karlstad University. Here, you will work with dedicated colleagues, develop as a teacher, and engage in the most important work there is.

Job Responsibilities

This is a permanent position. Your main responsibilities include planning and conducting teaching in mathematics and physical education for year 5, as well as documenting and following up on student results.

The position also includes mentorship for year 5, shared with a colleague. It is an advantage if you have education and experience in multiple subjects, such as Swedish or Swedish as a Second Language (SVA).

Qualifications

  • We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher and have experience teaching at the intermediate level (years 4-6).
  • You have good skills in verbal and written Swedish and are familiar with the Swedish Curriculum Lgr 22.
  • In the classroom, you are a clear leader who creates a good learning environment through structure and warmth.
  • You have the ability to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.
  • You are a person with great flexibility and strong commitment to teaching.
  • You work systematically to make teaching and the learning environment accessible to all students.
