Do you want to contribute to strengthening students' language skills in English? We are looking for an English teacher for the Natural Science programme.

About the position

As a teacher, you plan, conduct, and develop engaging, motivating, and challenging teaching. You work closely with your colleagues in a collaborative team where you jointly develop teaching and contribute to a secure, inclusive, and motivating learning environment. The role also includes mentorship, where you follow and support students in their academic and personal development. You stay updated within your subject area and actively contribute to the school's development work. The position is combined with teaching in an additional subject.

Examples of tasks:

  • plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching in the subjects you are qualified to teach
  • act as a mentor for students/perform homeroom teacher duties
  • support students' social development
  • create a good environment for learning
  • stay updated on current research within your field of operation
  • be familiar with and follow the organization's current laws, policies, and procedures, and work and document in the operational systems in place

About the workplace

Karolinska Gymnasium is one of Örebro Municipality's four upper secondary schools. The school has a rich history and is located in the center of Örebro. Approximately 900 students and 100 employees have the school as their workplace. The school offers education in the university-preparatory aesthetic, natural science, and social science programs, as well as the vocational program in natural resources.

Karolinska Gymnasium is part of the Upper Secondary and Labor Market Administration. Qualifications

As a teacher with us, you are confident in your professional role and adapt teaching to students' different needs and prerequisites. You collaborate with colleagues, students, and guardians and contribute to a secure and good learning environment. You work independently, take responsibility for your assignment, and show initiative. You are flexible and can adapt to changes. You have good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as well as to document according to the organization's requirements.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • teacher certification with eligibility to teach English and one additional subject for upper secondary school, or alternatively a degree certificate that qualifies for certification

Merits:

  • experience of teaching at upper secondary school
  • experience of mentorship at upper secondary school

Employment type: permanent position

Working hours: 100%

Start date: according to agreement

Teacher certification with stated eligibility must be attached to the application, or alternatively a degree certificate that qualifies for certification.
