About Bråtenskolan

Bråtenskolan is part of the School Administration and is located in the eastern part of Karlskoga. We have 290 students. The school operates with two parallel classes and has a leisure center with three departments. Our work is focused on creating a good and safe working environment for everyone while promoting learning and development. The staff at the school is a well-functioning and open team. We have close access to decision-making and a culture where we support, complement, and learn from each other. We value our colleagues and the trust we have in one another.

Development and Support

If you are a newly graduated teacher, mentor guidance is included during your first year. If you are studying to become a teacher, there are also good conditions for combining work with studies. As a teacher in Karlskoga Municipality's schools, you have the opportunity to continue your professional development and build a career. You can, among other things, become a student teacher supervisor (VFU) or a lead teacher, and we apply distributed leadership with responsibility for various development groups.

Responsibilities

You will be part of one of our work teams or subject teams and teach Swedish, English, and Social Studies (SO) in grades 4-6.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in the subjects you are responsible for
  • Analyzing teaching and results
  • Acting as a mentor/class teacher
  • Contact with parents
  • Contributing to school development
  • Collaboration with the student health team, school leadership, and external partners
  • School-wide values-based work
  • Team work
  • Working and documenting in the operational systems in use

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the qualifications to teach Swedish, English, and Social Studies in grades 4-6.

You are a confident and clear leader in the classroom and have an easy time creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You value and contribute to good collaboration by having an open, accommodating, and problem-solving approach. You are structured and have the ability to plan, organize, and analyze student learning as well as your teaching structure in an effective way that leads to desired results.

To contribute to the school's continued digital development, you are expected to possess good IT skills and be able to easily adapt to digital systems. Furthermore, you must master the Swedish language to such an extent that you can communicate with students, colleagues, and guardians, and that you can document in writing what the operations require.

Experience working as a teacher after graduation, language-developing approaches, or Swedish as a second language is meritorious.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment Terms

Type of employment: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date in August or by agreement.

To work in preschools, schools, as well as youth and leisure activities, you must, according to the Register Control Act, provide a certificate of good conduct from the police. You must request the extract yourself from the National Police Board using the form "Extract from the criminal record" available in the form archive on the police website.
