We are currently looking for a teacher for after-school care (fritidshem) or a teacher for younger age groups with an after-school focus who wants to help continue developing our after-school program and our school. About the position

As part of the after-school staff, you have significant opportunities to influence and shape the operations and its development. We have come a long way in our development of the after-school activities, largely thanks to our participation in an Ifous program (Fribi) together with four other municipalities in Sweden over the past three years. This has given the staff a deeper understanding of the complementary and compensatory mission, strengthened professional competence, professionalism, and increased focus on quality in the after-school care. We utilize our beautiful outdoor environment as much as possible and are looking for a driven person who wants to continue developing teaching with a focus on break-time activities and joy in movement.

Examples of tasks:

• In the mornings, you will participate in classroom work in various ways together with teachers and resource pedagogues.
• In the afternoons, you will carry out after-school activities together with the after-school work team. Every afternoon we have a number of planned activities that the children can choose from, and we use the sports hall and our beautiful outdoor environment as much as possible.
• Plan, document, and conduct teaching and activities during the day together with other pedagogues in the work team.
• Be involved in the development of the after-school operations based on current regulatory documents and the goals we have for the operations.
• Carry out school development together with other pedagogues to increase goal fulfillment.

About the workplace

Lillåns Södra School is a grades F-6 school located in the northern part of Örebro with good commuting opportunities and a cycling distance to the city center. We want to be characterized as a school where security, joy, curiosity, and a desire to learn characterize the operations. We want the students who leave our school to be social, responsible, communicative, and full of knowledge.

The school is idyllically located close to nature with access to forests and barbecue areas, and has its own gravel football field that is watered into an ice rink in winter. The school has approximately 220 students and 25 staff members. The staff is divided into three work teams: F-3, 4-6, and after-school. After-school staff and resources are also included in the other work teams.

The after-school care has a department with approximately 110 enrolled children, where we divide the children into groups based on activities and interests. This allows us to adapt the operations very well to the children's needs and wishes.

Qualifications

We are a tightly knit team, and we are looking for you who enjoy collaborating with others and are passionate about creating good learning environments for individual students, smaller groups, and classes as a whole. You have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work in an efficient manner. We also see that you have a flexible working style, where you can quickly adapt to new situations. You have clear leadership in the classroom and the ability to see all students and groups. Furthermore, you have good computer skills and good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in after-school care and/or the early years of primary school, or alternatively a qualification-granting degree that entitles you to certification.

Merits:

• Experience of previous work in after-school activities.
• Experience in leading break-time activities.
