Academic Resource is looking for a Research & Development Engineer for a Life Science company in Uppsala.
The position is initially a 1-year consultancy assignment with the possibility of extension.
The work is full-time, on-site. Location: Uppsala.
Start date: August 24.
Description of the department and team:
The Research and Development department for resins and ligand design (R&D Resins & Ligand Design) is responsible for the development of new products used in the manufacturing of leading biological medicines.
The Analytical Technology section consists of a team of 17 employees whose mission is to support various departments within the company with expertise and technology for the analysis of resins, intermediates, and other substances related to the production of chromatographic resins. The team also collaborates closely with quality control and production through troubleshooting and the development of analytical methods. Cross-functional collaboration is therefore a significant and important part of the role.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Participate in project teams for the development of new products as well as projects within product and process management, and perform analyses using chromatography and other analytical techniques.
- Develop and optimize new analytical methods within the scope of the projects.
- Perform method validation.
- Carry out analytical assignments from the production and quality control departments.
Qualifications:
- PhD or Master's degree (MSc).
- PhD with at least a couple of years of experience, or alternatively an MSc with several years of work experience in analytical chemistry with a focus on quantitative chromatography (LC and/or GC) and mass spectrometry.
- Good knowledge of English, which is the working language.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in research and project work in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge in statistics.
- Experience in the development of analytical methods.
- Very good computer skills.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, as a working language.
