Property Manager at Region Uppsala
Region Uppsala is a rapidly growing organization where Property and Services play a central role. The administration has an annual turnover of over one billion SEK and employs approximately 400 staff members. The operations encompass the development, management, and maintenance of approximately 760,000 square meters of premises – ranging from modern healthcare buildings to historic properties.
In addition to property management, the administration is also responsible for transportation, logistics solutions, and meal services within the region. Our customers are primarily within healthcare, with the University Hospital being the largest.
Here you are offered a dynamic work environment with complex assignments, broad contact areas, and an important societal mission.
Our Operations
The Property Department is responsible for developing and managing Region Uppsala's properties and providing premises in both owned and rented buildings. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the region's operations, where premises are adapted for everything from advanced healthcare and public transport to cultural and administrative purposes.
The department currently consists of nine property managers. The workplace is located in modern premises on the University Hospital campus in Uppsala.
We are now looking for a Property Manager who wants to contribute to creating efficient and functional premises in a technologically advanced environment. The role offers a developing career with a stable and long-term employer.
Your Role
As a Property Manager, you are the customer responsible for your own property portfolio and work in close collaboration with tenants, the Property Director, the Property Strategist, the Technical Manager, the Project Department, economists, and other functions. You have a central role as project owner in both small and large renovation and new construction projects, where you are responsible for formulating requirements, steering the projects, and monitoring quality, economy, and schedules.
You have overall responsibility for your projects and ensure they are carried out efficiently and in line with set goals and the organization's needs. You also have ongoing budget responsibility for your area, which involves handling invoices and preparing materials for monthly reports, forecasts, and budget work. Furthermore, you are responsible for preparing decision-making materials for property investments, writing service statements, and presenting reports in committees.
In this role, you represent the administration in dialogue with internal and external parties and are responsible for contracts in external leasing, including the calculation and negotiation of rental levels.
The work is varied and developing, with broad responsibility and continuous new challenges that require structure, business acumen, and collaboration skills.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who have several years of experience from an administrative or managerial role within the property industry. The work requires good knowledge of property economics and rental law, as well as an understanding of how these areas are integrated into project and management processes. Education in property management or documented experience as a property manager is a requirement.
Experience of working in a project environment is a requirement, as is experience of project management or project ownership where you have been responsible for steering, monitoring, and results. We also value experience from working in a politically governed organization.
You have good system proficiency, and knowledge of Facilitate, Master Concept, and Agresso is meritorious. You have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. As the position may involve travel within the region, a valid driver's license (Category B) is a requirement.
Your Competence
As a person, you are relationship-building and have the ability to build trust and create good collaboration between different stakeholders. You are self-initiating, take the initiative, and drive the work forward with a clear focus on results. You thrive in a role with great responsibility and are motivated by leading and developing complex projects.
You work in a structured, goal-oriented manner with an unpretentious and solution-oriented approach. Great emphasis is placed on your ability to take clear project ownership and create conditions for successful projects and efficient management.
We Offer
The position is full-time and permanent. Appointment as soon as possible according to agreement. You are located on the University Hospital campus; there is an opportunity to work partially remotely.
