Do you want to be part of building the police education program at Uppsala University? We are now recruiting an Administrator (Intendent) who, together with staff at Uppsala University and the Swedish Police Authority, will be involved in developing the newly established Administrator's Office for Police Work. The work will be both exciting and challenging, requiring flexibility and an entrepreneurial spirit.
The new Administrator's Office is part of the Department of Police Work, which together with the Department of Law forms the Faculty of Law, the oldest law faculty in the Nordic countries, existing since the university was founded in 1477.
Job Responsibilities
As an Administrator, you play a key role in ensuring that the operations of the Administrator's Office for Police Work function effectively, safely, and with high quality, both in daily work and from a long-term perspective. You are responsible for creating structure, coordination, and good conditions in a business characterized by collaboration between different actors.
As an Administrator, you are responsible for leading and coordinating the work within the administrator function and creating good conditions for police education. The position includes leading employees within the Administrator's Office for Police Work and close collaboration with employees at the Swedish Police Authority. You work closely with both the Swedish Police Authority and various functions within Uppsala University, where collaboration and clear communication are central.
In this role, you ensure that the daily operation of premises and common areas functions efficiently and that work with occupational health, environment, and safety is conducted systematically and in accordance with current requirements. You conduct risk assessments, develop action plans, and follow up on measures, primarily related to physical working environment, safety, and property.
You carry out minor maintenance measures and handle fault reports. You act as a vital link between the operations and property owners, janitorial services, and other suppliers. The work also involves developing, implementing, and following up on routines in collaboration with relevant parties.
Furthermore, you are responsible for orders, purchases, and premises adaptations, and you serve as an environmental representative and fire safety representative, which entails special responsibility for driving and following up on these areas.
Since the Department and the Administrator's Office for Police Work are newly established, and police education is new at Uppsala University, the work will initially consist of, within the framework of existing regulations, being involved in creating routines and processes for the administrator's office and the education. This means that you, if necessary, want to and have the ability to take on tasks that do not normally fall within the administrator role.
Qualifications
- Relevant education or equivalent work experience as assessed by the employer,
- at least one year of experience in leadership,
- at least one year of experience collaborating with external authorities,

- basic knowledge in safety and property-related issues,
- good knowledge of the Office package or equivalent IT systems,
- very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing,
- good knowledge of English, and
- Category B driver's license.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. To succeed in the role, we assume that you are a confident and clear leader who creates engagement and involvement. You collaborate smoothly and build good relationships. You also have the ability to work independently and structured, are flexible, and thrive in a developing business. It is important that you have a service-oriented approach and a solution focus.
