About the role

As a Laboratory Engineer in the Analysservice Explore team, you will have a central and varied role where you become an important part of the daily analysis work. You will independently plan and perform analyses using qPCR and/or NGS, while also being responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of laboratory equipment. The role also involves contributing to the department's quality work by creating and maintaining documentation and systems that ensure high standards and traceability. You will become part of a diverse team with colleagues of different ages and backgrounds, where knowledge and experience are shared generously. This is a consultancy assignment, meaning you will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant at Olink. The assignment will be full-time and is expected to last at least until the turn of the year. There are good prospects for extension, provided there is space for it and all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform analyses using qPCR and/or NGS according to established methods
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of laboratory equipment
  • Create and maintain documentation related to analyses and quality work
  • Contribute to the department's quality and improvement work through routines and system support
  • Collaborate with the team and actively contribute to a secure, structured, and supportive work environment

We are looking for you who

  • Have a completed university degree in molecular biology, biomedicine, or similar
  • Have experience working in a laboratory where you have gained good knowledge of NGS and qPCR
  • Have very good skills in pipetting small volumes (≤ 10 µL) and multichannel pipetting with high precision in ongoing analysis
  • Are very comfortable with Swedish and English in both speech and writing, as this is required to perform the work

It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you

  • Have experience with instrument responsibility
  • Have good knowledge of LIMS
  • Are vaccinated against Hepatitis B

As a person, you are self-driven, quality-conscious, and unpretentious. You are structured in your approach to work and enjoy problem-solving. Furthermore, you should be comfortable with social interactions, and since you will be working in a team, it is important that you possess good collaboration skills.
