About the Company
Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Our main markets are Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. The Vattenfall Group employs approximately 21,000 people. For over a hundred years, we have electrified industries, supplied energy to homes, and transformed lives through innovation.
About the Role
Do you want a meaningful job where you can make a real difference for society and the energy transition? Here, you are part of a socially vital operation and get to work on exciting projects, cutting-edge technology, and colleagues who value each other.
Do you have experience leading complex infrastructure projects? Do you have knowledge of the different components of power systems? Are you a clear communicator who collaborates well? Then you might be the person we are looking for! Driving, developing, and building tomorrow's power grid requires many different competencies, and as we continue to grow, we are looking for new Project Managers.
We are seeking a Project Manager for substation and line projects within 20–220 kV voltage. You will be ultimately responsible for achieving set goals and have overall responsibility for steering the project to the right cost, quality, and timeline. This includes leading and coordinating projects, as well as communicating and representing Vattenfall's interests towards other stakeholders such as authorities, municipalities, and contractors.
Your main responsibilities include the following areas:
- Lead, distribute, and follow up on work both internally within the project group and externally through our suppliers and contractors.
- Take overall responsibility within the agreed project scope regarding economy, schedule, function, and quality.
- Monitor and lead by example in safety work, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Create and maintain both external and internal relationships with customers, consultants, and authorities, as well as collaborate internally with other functions within the company.
- Communicate and report project status to relevant stakeholders and ensure they have the correct information.
- Create strategies to develop procurement procedures together with purchasing.
- Follow forecasts and budget monitoring for decided projects.
- Work proactively with calculations and risk management in the project.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who thrives in an independent role where you lead and engage others towards set goals and create progress in projects with high quality. You value relationship building and are accustomed to handling many contacts as well as different requirements from stakeholders, other grid companies, and authorities. With your communication skills, you create clarity for all involved. You easily grasp the big picture and are used to planning and prioritizing in your daily work.
We believe that you, as a candidate, have a post-secondary education, preferably in energy, power systems, project management, economics, law, or relevant work experience. You have several years of experience in project management during the execution phase and also experience with projects within power systems. Furthermore, you have:
- Knowledge of contract law (AB04/ABT06/ABK09).
- Fluent Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
- Driver's license: Class B.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Education in project management and/or electrical safety.
- Experience in project management within regional grids, infrastructure, or development.
- Experience working with other authorities regarding, for example, building permits, water and sewage, traffic safety issues, and/or permit issues.
- Experience working on the supplier side from a customer perspective.
- Experience in mentoring.
