About the role

The role will primarily focus on existing and future production facilities in Oxelösund (Sweden) and Mobile (USA), with a main focus on process-near systems and automation in an industrial environment.

The work format is project-based, and you will work broadly across SSAB's facilities. The role involves independent work under your own responsibility, as well as collaboration with your colleagues in the group and within a broad network across locations. Your most common contacts will include project managers, designers, process engineers, maintenance technicians, operations technicians, and operators. Within systems and automation, we use both graphical tools (e.g., ProviewR) and programming with C/C++ in a Linux environment.

About you

• You are curious, driven, down-to-earth, and unpretentious, with a desire to learn new things.
• You are technology-oriented, enjoy problem-solving, and perhaps have home automation as a hobby.
• You enjoy using programming as a tool.
• You thrive in an open and inclusive environment where you work independently or in a team.
• You hold a university degree or Master of Science in Engineering in computer science, embedded systems, technical physics, automation, or equivalent.
• You have programming skills in C/C++, SQL, and Python.
• You are comfortable performing data analysis and retrieving data from various databases.
• You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
