Nyköping is growing, and the digitalization of the municipality's operations continues at a rapid pace. To meet the increasing demand for digital welfare services, we are developing a hybrid IT environment where cloud services are combined with deliveries from our own data centers.
We are now looking for an IT Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of technology and business operations and wants to drive projects that deliver real value. Here, you will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and create value through modern IT solutions.
The position is located within the IT Department at the Municipal Executive Office, a central function in the municipality. The IT Department is responsible for support, operations, administration, and development of the IT environment for both Nyköping and Oxelösund municipalities, and has a coordinating responsibility for system administration, e-training, and e-services.

Do you want to be part of driving the development of tomorrow's IT environment in a socially critical operation? As an IT Project Manager here, you will play a key role in translating needs into functional solutions that make a real difference.
You are responsible for planning, leading, and coordinating IT projects within the municipality's IT department, with a clear focus on technical deliveries and efficient execution. Projects vary in size and complexity and can range from system implementations and upgrades to further development and improvements of the existing IT environment.
In this role, you drive projects through their entire lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, follow-up, and handover to administration and operations. You have overall responsibility for ensuring projects meet set goals regarding time, budget, and quality, while adhering to current security requirements and contracts.
You work closely with colleagues within the IT department and lead project resources such as system administrators, solution architects, and operations technicians. At the same time, you serve as a vital bridge between IT, business operations, and external suppliers.
A central part of the role is to drive and structure requirements work, from capturing needs and documenting requirements to ensuring they are translated into well-functioning technical solutions that underpin both deliveries and contracts.
You are also involved in procurement processes and play an active role in following up on contracts and steering suppliers from an IT perspective. Through a structured approach, you are responsible for risk management, quality assurance, and continuous follow-up, while ensuring good communication and anchoring with relevant business units.
When projects are completed, you ensure that the results are well documented and that the handover to administration and operations is smooth and quality-assured, so that the solutions continue to create value over time.
Here, you have the opportunity to combine technology, structure, and collaboration in a role where you can truly influence both IT development and the organization's ability to deliver services to citizens.
