We are currently looking for a Senior Software Design Engineer with strong expertise in C++ and critical systems.

Software Engineer for Critical Systems at UMS Skeldar:

You will become part of the System & Software team, consisting of 40 employees in roles such as systems engineers, software developers, HMI designers, and testers. The team works cross-functionally on all parts of the helicopter system: the helicopter, ground station, data links, and simulator.

In the role of Software Engineer for Critical Systems, you will:

  • Develop the helicopter's software platform.
  • Program primarily in C++.
  • Work with real-time systems.
  • Develop safety-critical software.
  • Develop new features, including software design and implementation.
  • Develop automated test cases.
  • Maintain existing software, including bug fixing and improvement measures.

For the right person with an interest in leadership roles, there is also an opportunity to take technical responsibility for one of our subsystems.

To succeed in this role, we require a university degree in software development, computer science, or equivalent. We look for several years of experience in C++ software development within safety-critical systems. Previous experience in a technical leadership role, RTCA/DO-178, and/or real-time systems is a plus.

The position requires very good proficiency in both English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
