We are now looking for an engaged University Lecturer in Pedagogy with a specialization in Art, who wants to help train future teachers and thereby contribute to development in close collaboration with schools and society.

The position of University Lecturer is located at the Department of Health, Learning and Technology on the Luleå campus and belongs to the Division of Pedagogy, Language and Subject Didactics. At the division, teacher education, standalone courses, and commissioned education are conducted, contributing to the development of schools and the supply of qualified teachers in both our region and the country as a whole.

Subject Description

Pedagogy encompasses learning, upbringing, teaching, education, and other influence processes in formal and non-formal contexts. Particular focus is placed on relationships, participation, collaboration, communication, the teaching profession, digital technology, as well as governance and leadership. Pedagogy has three specializations: general pedagogy, special needs education, and preschool pedagogy. Research within these specializations is conducted based on their specific target groups, and in relation to conditions, content, actors, and contexts within pedagogy.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities consist of teaching in Art and aesthetic learning processes within the Preschool Teacher and Primary Teacher programs. The applicant is also expected to actively participate in departmental work, program and course development, as well as follow developments and research within the subject. The position also includes responsibility for and active participation in collaboration with the surrounding society.

Qualifications

To meet the requirements for employment as a University Lecturer, the applicant must:

• have completed a university degree of at least 180 credits or equivalent
• demonstrate pedagogical competence

The position is fixed-term at 50% during the period from 2026-10-19 to 2026-06-31 or as agreed, with a possible option for extension. Location: Luleå.
