About the Position

The Adapted Primary School covers grades 1–9 and is located at Hedskolan and Sjöparksskolan. The staff includes special needs educators, special teachers, and teaching assistants. We provide education adapted to the needs of students with intellectual disabilities. Teaching is based on each student's individual needs and prerequisites.

Responsibilities

You will support a student or a group of students who may have various physical or social needs. Together with the teacher in the classroom, you help ensure that all students reach their goals. You provide care and support to the student during activities both at school and during leisure time, in close collaboration with teachers and the student's guardians.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a secondary education or other education that the employer considers equivalent. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of or experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF). As a person, you should have a present and attentive attitude towards students' different needs, create engagement and participation, be a clear leader, and have good cooperation skills. You are independent, responsible, and quick to take initiative. We develop our work through pedagogical discussions and collegial learning, seeing it as a strength to help each other to be curious about new ways of working. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Under the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

A certificate of conduct (extract from the police record) must be presented upon employment.

Working Hours and Duration

Full-time, fixed-term position. The position runs from 2026-08-12 to 2027-06-12.
