Are you a licensed psychologist interested in working with patients with eating disorders? Then this is the job for you! We offer a one-year fixed-term contract in an stimulating and pleasant environment where the whole family is in focus.

Stockholm Centre for Eating Disorders (SCÄ) is one of the world's largest specialist clinics for patients with eating disorders and treats patients of all ages.

We have a well-developed operation with digital care, outpatient care, intensive outpatient care, day care, inpatient care, and national highly specialized care for both adults, children, and adolescents. Today, we have just over 300 employees. Our outpatient and day care are located on Södermalm, and our inpatient care is at Danderyd Hospital.

Day Care for Children and Young People

Day care for children and young people is a unit for families with children under 18 who need more intensive support than what outpatient care can offer. We work with Family-Based Treatment (FBT), the treatment method that currently has the strongest research support and is recommended as the first choice for children and adolescents with eating disorders. The treatment is based on the parents' active engagement and is carried out in outpatient care, where the home environment is seen as conducive to recovery. In the initial phase, the focus is on reversing starvation and breaking behaviors that maintain the eating disorder.

This also includes a specialized team for patients with ARFID, who are treated in accordance with CBT-AR.

What We Offer You

An interesting job in a unit that is still under development. You will encounter a broad spectrum of diagnoses, making the work stimulating and educational. You will become proficient in eating disorder treatment (if you are not already!) and provide evidence-based treatment for this patient group.

Job Responsibilities

As a psychologist, you will, together with colleagues (nursing staff/assistants), be responsible for a number of families. You will collaborate in the team regarding these cases and plan the content of care. Great emphasis is placed on meal situations, weight restoration, and developing more functional strategies within families. You will conduct psychological treatment work both individually and in groups. The responsibilities also include clinical assessments and collaboration with other units at SCÄ, such as pediatric outpatient care and inpatient care. You will participate in treatment conferences, supervision, and method development together with other staff at the unit.

Employment Type

  • Fixed-term contract for 1 year
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday

Qualifications

You are a licensed psychologist.

Experience with eating disorder care, family-based therapy, and/or evidence-based treatment protocols within the CBT spectrum is meritorious. Proficiency in psychiatric assessment, differential diagnosis, and behavioral analysis is an advantage.

Personal Attributes

Since the work is largely team-based, great importance is placed on good cooperation skills with an emphasis on team spirit. You have a strong interest in evidence-based care and are confident in meeting people in crisis. Here, you need to be unpretentious and have a good understanding that the patient group can be challenging, often requiring support from the work group to find good solutions together. A bonus is if you, as a person, take responsibility and have a desire to drive the unit's development and improvement work. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Our Benefits

SLSO creates good conditions for you as an employee to develop and become truly excellent in your profession. As an employee, you have benefits such as free healthcare up to the high-cost protection limit, extra compensation during parental leave, contractual pension, and insurance. We also apply flextime, wellness hours, and offer a 5,000 SEK wellness allowance per calendar year.

Interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
