Description

Ward 131 at Danderyd Hospital offers acute psychiatric care at a specialist level to patients with general psychiatric conditions. The ward is part of Psychiatry Northwest, a university clinic located in the northwestern part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Region (SLSO), and is one of our five wards in total. Three of our inpatient wards are located at Danderyd Hospital and two are located at S:t Göran Hospital.

We are now looking for you who want to become the new Chief Physician/Specialist Physician at Ward 131, as the current Chief Physician is moving on to new challenges within the organization. Here you will work together with nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, and occupational therapists in close collaboration with outpatient care, which is also part of both Psychiatry Northwest and other healthcare providers.

Psychiatry Northwest provides psychiatric care at a specialist level in both outpatient and inpatient settings and has approximately 450 dedicated employees who constantly strive to provide patients with good, safe, and equitable care. It is important to us to offer high accessibility and a well-functioning care chain, where outpatient and inpatient care have close collaboration. We also consider patient participation and collaboration with relatives and care peers to be very important.

Responsibilities

As Chief Physician/Specialist Physician, you are medically responsible for the ward. Assessment and treatment are carried out based on multidisciplinary teamwork with other staff groups. The work also includes handling psychiatric involuntary care. You work together with the unit manager on development and planning issues. The clinic has two duty lines for specialist physicians.

Qualifications

Registered Physician, Specialist in Psychiatry. You are interested in inpatient psychiatric care, have good collaboration skills, and enjoy teamwork. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Conditions

Permanent employment, full-time 40 hours/week with start date as agreed.

In patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Region (SLSO):

  • A background check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational healthcare services before employment.
  • In addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
