As part of the student health team, you are expected to contribute your expertise as a school nurse and collaborate with the student's best interest as the norm from a holistic perspective.

Your role

As a school nurse, you are employed directly under the principal, who is responsible for student health work.

In your role as a school nurse, you will:

• Perform the student health's medical interventions in the school according to current legislation, the city's Program for Student Health Work, which includes the Management System for Student Health's Medical Interventions and central School Health's regulations and guidelines.
• In collaboration with school leadership and other student health staff at the school, based on your medical competence, create the best possible conditions for students' learning, development, and health.
• Together with the school doctor and in consultation with the school leadership, be responsible for the organization of the student health's medical interventions in the school.
• The work includes collaboration with students, parents, school staff, as well as organizations and authorities outside the school.

Stockholm City's school nurses have been using the journal system Prorenata since March 2022.

Your competence and experience

The following requirements for education and experience are necessary to qualify for the position.

Education requirements

Licensed nurse with one of the following specialist nurse programs:

• Specialist Nurse Program – District Nurse (75 ECTS/credits)
• Specialist Nurse Program – Child and Adolescent (60 ECTS/credits)
• Specialist Nurse Program – School Nurse (60 ECTS/credits)

Other competencies

• To succeed in the role of school nurse, you are professional, flexible, and relationship-building.
• You have a respectful and empathetic approach, characterized by dialogue and participation in meetings with the student and/or guardian.
• You have good judgment, are meticulous, and have good cooperation skills.

Additionally, the role requires the ability to be independent and structured in your work approach to successfully plan for both short and long term. You have good computer skills and the ability to work independently.

Meritorious experience

• Previous experience working as a school nurse.
• It is meritorious if you have previously worked in the journal system Prorenata as well as the journal system PMO.

Other

• A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) must be presented.
• CV and education must be verifiable with documented records.
