About the position
The Bowel Failure Clinic investigates and treats patients with bowel failure. We follow patients who require intravenous fluids and/or nutrition for three months or longer.
Care is provided both at our outpatient clinic in Solna and within medical and surgical inpatient care on ward NB5.
The work takes place in close collaboration within a multidisciplinary team consisting of a gastroenterologist, surgeon, dietitian, stoma therapist, pharmacologist, pain specialist, and nurse. We also collaborate with counselors, psychologists, and other relevant professions. Teamwork is central to our operations, and we hold regular multidisciplinary conferences where we jointly discuss patient cases to optimize assessments and treatment strategies.
Since January 1, 2024, we have had a nationally highly specialized mandate within medical and surgical care for bowel failure. As part of this mandate, we are responsible for the care of patients from half of Sweden's population living with bowel failure.
At our clinic, we work multidisciplinary and person-centered, with the patient's needs in focus throughout the entire care chain.
Your responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you will:
- Work with nursing care and follow-up of patients with bowel failure.
- Manage central lines.
- Provide patient education and support to patients and relatives.
- Work with outpatient visits and telephone counseling.
- Collaborate with different professions in the team.
We are looking for you who
- Are a registered nurse.
- Have experience in medical care, preferably within gastroenterology, surgery, or nutrition.
- Have an interest in long-term patient relationships and person-centered care.
- Are structured, responsible, and have good collaboration skills.
- Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Can work independently and are flexible.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Swedish nursing license.
- At least 2 years of experience as a nurse.
- Good Swedish skills in speech and writing.
Merits:
- Work experience with TeleQ and Alltid Öppet (Always Open).
- Knowledge and work experience regarding gastroenterology, surgery, and medicine.
- Previous work experience with bowel failure patients.
