The Addiction Centre is part of the Adult Psychiatry Malmö-Trelleborg area of operations, with its own emergency clinic, three units for inpatient care, and several outpatient clinics. We offer psychiatric healthcare services for individuals with addiction issues of such severity that specialist assessment and specialist care are required. The unit's mandate includes, among other things, diagnostics, care, and treatment of addiction conditions related to alcohol, medication, narcotics, and gambling.

The Addiction Centre is part of university healthcare and actively conducts research and development work. We work with continuous quality assurance and have a stable staff pool with broad and long experience in both psychiatry and addiction syndromes. On the unit, senior consultants, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, care assistants, and social workers work in teams to achieve the best results for the patient. We value our teamwork highly.

We actively work to develop and improve our operations. The current focus lies, among other things, on:

  • Teamwork and collaboration between professional groups and within the same professional group.
  • Work with medically safe care processes/procedures.
  • Development of profession-specific areas of responsibility.
  • Development of psychiatric nursing work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a medical secretary, you have a varied job with tasks such as writing medical records in Melior and handling mail and referrals. In addition, you work with registrations in WebPASIS, telephone service, involuntary care, write certificates and reports to, among others, the social services, as well as other administrative tasks that occur at an emergency clinic and emergency ward. Your work takes place in close collaboration with other healthcare staff. The tasks require the ability to switch from a fast-paced to a more quiet unit and vice versa.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply have education in Health and Medical Administration 80 credits (KY) / 400 credits (YH) or equivalent medical secretary education. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of medical terminology and the Swedish language, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have experience working as a medical secretary within psychiatry.

We would like you to find psychiatry interesting and to have a strong commitment to your work, as well as the ability to understand each person's unique needs. As a person, you have good self-awareness and the ability to work independently. You see and take your responsibility within the framework of your tasks, your mandate, and your profession. Since we work in teams, it is also important that you have the ability to cooperate and coordinate different tasks. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

The mandate within psychiatry is to provide specialized care in publicly driven child, adult, and forensic psychiatry. Habilitation provides habilitation and rehabilitation within publicly driven child, youth, and adult habilitation. Assistive devices are tasked with managing assistive devices prescribed to patients in Skåne. The administration also includes vision, hearing, and deaf activities and youth clinics in Skåne.
