Plastic and Jaw Surgery Department
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough trials and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Do you want to work with leadership and world-class burn care? Then this might be the job for you! At our Burn Center, you are offered the opportunity to develop your skills in burn care. At the same time, as a team leader, you play a crucial role in driving the operations forward, as we are in an exciting phase of development with increased care beds and knowledge development.
Our Operations
Welcome to Sweden's hottest workplace! Just below the helicopter pad, we operate one of the country's two units providing national highly specialized burn care. Here, we work in multidisciplinary teams, always with the patient in focus. We care for burn patients from the acute stage, requiring advanced intensive care, to intermediate care, and finally rehabilitation before the patient is discharged. This provides continuity in care and close contact with the patient and their relatives. The ward has an operating room where our patients are operated on.
Our operations are complemented by a clinic where we treat minor injuries and care for patients who have been discharged from the ward.

Your Role
As a team leader at the Burn Center, you are a key person focused on daily operations – both in inpatient care and outpatient services. You report directly to the Ward Manager and are responsible for being the operational leader for the work shift. Your duties are divided between team leader responsibilities and patient-facing work with standard nursing tasks. You represent the ward both internally and externally. The team leader role is during daytime hours, Monday to Friday, but opportunities for rotation and weekend shifts exist if desired.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for a nurse, preferably with specialized training in intensive care. The position requires you to be solution-oriented and a good communicator. Wound care is more exciting than many think; if you are not interested in this from the start, you will surely become so! If you have a flexible and curious attitude, as well as good collaboration skills, we are made for each other.
What We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position as a nurse/specialist nurse in intensive care. An appointment as team leader for a 2-year period, which can be extended. Start date by agreement.
As an employee at Akademiska sjukhuset, you have the staff benefit of using Friskhuset's services. Here you have access to a well-equipped gym with generous opening hours, a wide range of group training sessions, and additionally everything from stress courses to massage and free physiotherapy.
