Region Uppsala assigns all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime, but is solely a planning measure.
Before making a decision on employment, checks of suspicion and criminal records are conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care for children and youth, or involuntary care for addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This therefore applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to primarily involve work with the aforementioned patient groups.
