Department of Neurology – Nurse and Assistant Nurse for NIVA
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Our Operations
The Neuro Intensive Care Unit, NIVA, is a highly specialized and high-tech intensive care unit at one of Sweden's largest hospitals. We treat children and adults with, among other things, traumatic injuries, cerebral hemorrhages, and other injuries affecting the nervous system. NIVA has 8 care beds and we are approximately 100 employees.
Nurses and assistant nurses work together in paired care, and you will have an important role in the collaboration where different professions work together for the benefit of the patient. NIVA is a well-functioning organization, and we value the staff's engagement and knowledge in our continuous quality work.
Your Role
We are looking for you who want to work as an assistant nurse with us at NIVA. As an assistant nurse at NIVA, you will have an exciting and meaningful job. You work in a team together with nurses and doctors to observe changes in the patient's condition up close. After training, you should be able to independently manage the close-to-patient and basic care of a seriously ill patient.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse, preferably with at least two years of experience from emergency care.
Your Competence
You always put the patient first, are responsible and motivated in your work. You should be interested in advanced nursing, technical equipment, and teamwork. You also have a flexible and curious approach, as well as good collaboration skills. We want you to be an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
What We Offer
A permanent full-time position with rotation, day, evening, and night shifts in a schedule model that gives more time for recovery during inconvenient working hours. The introduction is adapted to individual needs. Start date is by agreement. Probation period of up to 6 months may apply.
You will get a mentor who gives you guidance, feedback, and helps you in your development. We also have a clinical supervising assistant nurse who will guide you during your introduction. We have 2–3 scheduled education days per semester.
