Job Description
SiS Youth Home Eknäs is now looking for a nurse to join the treatment team. Eknäs consists of 4 wards, including one MBB (Maximum Security) ward, two locked treatment wards, and one open ward. In addition, Eknäs has its own school. As a nurse with us, you are part of the health care team consisting of two nurses, two psychologists, treatment secretaries, and family therapists. The team also receives support from a child and adolescent psychiatrist from the Region of Uppsala, and we have access to general practitioners on a consulting basis. The care and treatment work in the team is based on the young person's individual needs, where your tasks include nursing, medication management, and emergency interventions. At Eknäs, we strive to work with health-promoting initiatives throughout the institution, where student health services play an important role.
The nurse's main areas of responsibility and work within SiS are medication management, health assessments, and nursing interventions. Collaboration with both internal and external parties regarding health care in connection with placement, during the care period, and prior to discharge from SiS is also part of the work.
Examples of tasks include:
- Assessing and planning for the patient's care needs, and handling relevant contacts with regional health care units in the patient's care chain.
- Assessing and performing nursing interventions and measures for emerging health problems in daily institutional care.
- Responsibility for medication management.
- Training staff in safe medication management and delegating tasks related to parts of medication management to relevant staff at the institution, as well as following up on the delegation.
- Participating in institution-relevant treatment teams and contributing health care expertise to treatment planning.
- Conducting educational initiatives within the nursing area and the health care area for the institution's employees.
The work as a nurse suits you if you see a positive challenge in caring for young people in difficult life situations. The work is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. A working day with us includes everything from supportive conversations to emergency interventions – always with the young people's best interests in focus.
We are looking for someone who is secure and stable. You need to be able to plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks effectively. You must be able to build alliances and collaborate, even with young people exhibiting challenging behavior.
Qualifications
- You are a licensed nurse.
- Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
Meritorious:
- Further education specializing as a school nurse, pediatric nurse, or in psychiatry.

Personal suitability will be given great weight.
You share our vision of being a place for change, and this permeates your approach, engagement, and attitude.
At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
