Within the Care and Social Services Department, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees are fundamentally employed on a full-time basis. We are looking for a nursing assistant for a parental leave replacement of approximately one year at Västergården in Svartbäcken, Uppsala. Here you will find meaningful work where you make a concrete difference in everyday life, while developing operations together with engaged colleagues.

About the role

As a nursing assistant here, you play a central role in daily care. You meet residents in their daily lives and contribute to security, dignity, and quality of life through professional and personal interaction.

Your responsibilities:

• Perform personal care and service tasks
• Perform delegated tasks from licensed personnel, such as medication management
• Document according to the Social Services Act
• Create and maintain good relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues, and other professional groups
• Actively participate in teamwork regarding the resident

You are also involved in developing both the operations and yourself together with your colleagues.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Education as a nursing assistant with a protected professional title
• You must be able to communicate independently and without hindrance in Swedish, both orally and in writing. This is a requirement to ensure patient safety and correct documentation in work.
• Experience working in elderly care
• Ability to receive and work based on delegation

Merits:

• Delegation within areas such as tracheostomy, tube feeding, or insulin
• Experience with dementia care

About the workplace

Västergården is a care and social housing facility with 50 apartments spread over three floors. Here we offer both dementia and care places in an operation characterized by person-centered care and social services.

Here, the individual's needs, dignity, and self-determination are always in focus. We work in teams and value good collaboration where we learn from each other and constantly strive to develop.

We are located centrally in Uppsala with proximity to beautiful walking paths along the Fyrisån river, which provides good opportunities for outdoor activities and contributes to a pleasant environment for both residents and employees.

Working hours are scheduled for days and evenings, as well as every other weekend.

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. To use the title nursing assistant, you need to provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023.

We will request a certificate of good conduct before employment can be offered.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.

An employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on a war establishment (civil defense role).
