The Role

As an Occupational Therapist with us, you create important prerequisites for our patients to live as independent, participatory, and meaningful lives as possible. The role offers variation and flexibility in terms of both environment and tasks, and you are responsible for planning and structuring your working days. You are primarily responsible, together with a physiotherapist, for a geographical area in the municipality. Within the municipality, you may encounter patients in ordinary housing, in care and nursing homes, within LSS/disability support, or in short-term care facilities.

As an Occupational Therapist with us, you are expected to:

• Work both independently and in close collaboration with physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, nurses, and care staff.
• Collaborate internally and externally with other healthcare providers and actors around the patient, e.g., social workers, healthcare providers at health centers or hospitals.
• Conduct assessments regarding function, ADL (Activities of Daily Living) activities, cognition, and perform rehabilitative measures according to the rehabilitation process.
• Assess needs and adapt the living environment, e.g., write certificates for housing adaptations.
• Write ADL certificates.
• Assess needs, trial, and prescribe mobility and cognitive aids according to the prescription process.
• Be involved in development and quality work within the operations.
• Supervise, guide, and support patients, relatives, and employees based on your professional role.

About Us

We in the Rehabilitation Group are part of the municipality's health and medical care unit together with nurses, where the Rehabilitation Group and the Nurse Group each have their own unit manager. The Rehabilitation Group consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation assistants. We operate from shared premises at Lövsta Care and Nursing Home centrally in Heby. Here you will find a pleasant courtyard, a training facility, office spaces, and a practical equipment store.

With a common starting point, close collaboration, daily planning, and collegial support in everyday life are promoted. With short decision paths and easy accessibility between our different operations, this gives us the prerequisites for collaboration within the care and nursing administration. Together we see opportunities, like to try new things, and have an unpretentious approach. We are happy to receive thoughts and ideas on how we can develop together to become even better.

We meet patients in ordinary housing, care and nursing homes, LSS/disability support, and short-term care. We have rehabilitation responsibility for persons from 17 years and are responsible for equipment prescription for patients from 21 years, where the majority of those we meet are elderly.

Heby is well located and has commuting distance to nearby cities such as Västerås, Enköping, Sala, and Uppsala. We have several employees in our operations who commute by train or bus; from Lövsta, it is approx. 300 m walking distance from the station.

• Have a Swedish license as an occupational therapist and preferably clinical experience.

• Express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Have a valid B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you have experience of municipal rehabilitation, prescription of electric wheelchairs, and cognitive aids. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

The start date for the position can be agreed upon.
