Do you want to improve the daily life, future, and quality of life for the people of Linköping? With us, you can combine important assignments with a meaningful daily routine. Welcome to us!
Your responsibilities
As a casual staff member within support, care, and social services, you have a meaningful job where you make a difference for different people!
You can work within elderly care, LSS (The Act on Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled People), or social psychiatry. The work involves supporting people in their daily lives based on the individual's needs and conditions, with the goal of promoting the person's individual abilities and independence. Tasks include assisting with care duties such as helping with dressing, showering, and toilet visits, as well as performing daily chores such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. You will also offer and support people in various activities and social gatherings.
We are looking for you who want to work as a casual staff member during the spring, and we would appreciate it if you could also work during the summer. Even if you are only interested in working during the summer, but have the possibility to undergo introduction during the spring, you are welcome. During the summer period (weeks 25-32), you have the opportunity to be scheduled for either the first period (weeks 25-28), the second period (weeks 29-32), or both periods.
Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. In some operations, sleeping on-call is included, and in others, you can also work awake nights.
To ensure you have a secure start, you will receive an introduction where you shadow and are supervised by experienced staff for approximately five working shifts, as well as complete a digital introductory course.
Your workplace
We have over 100 different operations, and as a casual staff member with us, you can work within one of the following areas:
Within Elderly Care we support elderly people in their daily lives with the goal of strengthening the person's individual abilities. You can work in a care home where you, together with colleagues, help the individuals living in the home who need care and support around the clock. Some homes have specializations such as dementia, somatic care, or short-term care.
You can also work within home care services where you, independently or together with a colleague, visit people who remain in their homes but need support in their daily lives. During the work shift, you have shorter support interventions booked with several different people. The scope of interventions varies and is adapted to each individual's unique needs.
Within LSS (The Act on Support and Service for Certain Functionally Disabled People) we support adults and children who have intellectual disabilities, diagnoses within the autism spectrum, acquired brain injuries, or other extensive disabilities. There may be limited or no verbal language, which means you need to work based on clear pedagogical methods and communication aids. You can work in a group home, service apartment, short-term home for children and adults, leisure homes for children and young people with LSS decisions, as well as within escort and relief services.
Within Social Psychiatry we support people with mental or neuropsychiatric functional variations, as well as people with substance abuse and social problems. You work with motivating clients towards an independent life and support individuals in creating structure and routines. Outwardly aggressive behavior may occur, and you must be able to meet and handle more difficult situations. You can work in a supported housing facility where you provide support to clients around the clock, or within social psychiatry's youth operations where you support young adults to integrate into society and create conditions for an independent life.
You who apply
We view education as an asset. It is a plus if you have started a high school education or have a passing grade in SFI C. Education within care and social services, child and leisure, or post-secondary studies within care and behavioral areas is seen as particularly advantageous. Previous experience from work or practice within support, care, and social services is also advantageous.
For work within social psychiatry and HVB homes (Hem för vård eller boende), it is a requirement that you have a complete education from the care and social services program or have studied at least 60 higher education credits within social work or health care. Alternatively, another complete high school education combined with at least one year of care experience is required.
You need to be at least 18 years old and able to perform personal care for both female and male users. Since the work involves a lot of communication and documentation, it is required that you have a good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good computer skills.
In some operations, it may be necessary to be able to cycle, while others may require a driver's license. For some operations, it may also be an advantage to have access to your own car to get to and from the workplace.
We are looking for you who work well together with other people and listen and communicate clearly. You are self-reliant and have an empathetic ability where you can put yourself in others' perspectives and situations.
Welcome to apply!
